SaloneSatellite is the international section of the Exhibition dedicated to talents under 35.
This year’s awards have gone to the emerging talents the Jury felt best representing the theme of sustainability.
Grew up between Italy and Brazil, Stefano graduated in Economics and after in Product Design at IED Istituto Europeo di Design in Cagliari in 2014.
In 2013 he founded Stefano Carta Vasconcellos Design Studio, made to be an innovative container that combines craftsmanship and digital fabrication, carrying out projects ranging from cutlery to office accessories.
Since 2015 he is professor in the Product Design course of the Istituto Europeo di Design and expert in digital fabrication in the research program of Sardegna Ricerche, the agency for the technological research of the Sardinia Region (Italy).
With the project “CucinaLeggera” – First Prize at SaloneSatellite, he previously exhibited – with a first prototype - at the Maker Faire in Rome, winning the Maker of Merit and the 21st Triennale of Milan in 2016.
CucinaLeggera (LightKitchen) is a kitchen unit which can be assembled through the interlocking of seven elements, without screws or hardware. It is part of the CelerFurniture collection.
Cucina Leggera has been awarded for its ease of construction and assembly, compactness and financial accessibility, main characteristics that are leveraging the sort of design approach and vision that will continue to hold good for the future.
